About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Architect to lead design and delivery responsibilities on the from our Gurgaon studio. This is a senior technical and design leadership role. You will own the design development process, lead consultant coordination, drive client communication, and be responsible for ensuring that SAPL’s design vision is executed to the highest standard on site. You will mentor junior team members, manage project timelines, and act as the day-to-day interface between the studio, consultants, contractors, and the client.

Key Responsibilites

  • Lead the development and delivery of all architectural documentation across schematic design, design development, tender, and construction stages
  • Own design quality – ensure drawings, specifications, and details are accurate, coordinated, and reflect the approved design intent throughout the project lifecycle
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all multi-disciplinary consultant coordination: structural, MEP, landscape, acoustics, lighting, exhibition designers, and specialist museum fitout consultants
  • Drive client communication, attend design review meetings, prepare presentation packages, and manage client feedback cycles
  • Lead and mentor a team of 2 to 4 junior architects and interns; review work output and maintain drawing quality standards across the team
  • Conduct regular site inspections; review contractor submissions (drawings, material samples, method statements); issue site instructions and RFI responses
  • Manage the project programme for design deliverables; flag risks early and coordinate with the Director to resolve
  • Review and manage the drawing register, ensure accurate version control and document issue management through SAPL’s project management systems

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) – Council of Architecture registered; Master of Architecture (M.Arch) preferred
  • Minimum 6 years of professional post-qualification experience in a recognised architecture practice
  • Demonstrated experience on large-scale civic, cultural, institutional, or public-sector projects through all stages – schematic through construction
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; experience managing BIM models and coordinating model federations across disciplines
  • Strong command of construction detailing – materials, waterproofing, facades, structural interfaces, and specialist finishes
  • Proficiency in 3D modelling and visualisation tools (SketchUp, Rhino, 3ds Max, or similar) for design development and client communication
  • Working knowledge of relevant Indian standards: NBC 2016, CPWD specifications, Fire NOC requirements, and accessibility norms for public buildings
  • Demonstrated experience managing consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders

Preferred / Good to Have

  • Prior experience on museum, gallery, performing arts, or heritage cultural projects specifically
  • Familiarity with exhibition design integration, climate-controlled storage design, and specialist museum fitout requirements
  • Experience with GRIHA, LEED, or other green building certifications in the context of public/civic buildings
  • Knowledge of BIM 360, Procore, or similar collaborative project management and coordination platforms
