Traffic and Transport Survey for Jammu Planning Area

Traffic and Transport surveys were conducted in the Jammu Planning Area within the
jurisdiction of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Jammu Cantonment Board,
Bari Brahmana, Nagrota, Vijaypur, Bishnah, and other intervening villages.
The study area spans approximately 652 sq. km, providing a
robust mobility baseline to support the formulation of Jammu’s Master Plan.

Study Objectives

• Analyse travel patterns including trip frequency, trip length, preferred modes,
  and destinations
• Determine Origin-Destination patterns and Traffic Volume counts across the city
• Assess parking requirements, congestion hotspots, and tourist inflow during
  peak periods
• Provide stakeholders with a preliminary analysis to support Master Plan
  decision-making
